Lightning is most certainly one of the most captivating and powerful forces of nature. No two lightning strikes are ever the same and likewise no two lightning photographs can ever be the same.
Mitchell Krog from a very young age had a fascination with electrical storms and would often stand outside and watch approaching storms long after most people had run for cover. It was not until he got into photography at a much later stage of life that he discovered new and interesting ways of capturing this magnificent marvel of nature. He spends many a summer evening chasing storms and has developed a unique style in this genre of photography.
Mitchell has photographed some incredible once in a lifetime events on film and the majority of this lies within his lightning imagery. He achieved international recognition with the likes of National Geographic with his image "Fire and Ice" which captured a summer evening grass fire started by an electrical storm. Each season he challenges himself to take things to a new level and he is constantly raising and surpassing his own very high standards.
